As we have thanked Rev. Dr. Charles Tinsley, IV for his 24 years of service at Juvenile Hall, we come to the next chapter in our more than five decades of service there.
I'd like to introduce the community to our new Interfaith Juvenile Chaplain, Rev. Julius Van Hook, now serving at the Martinez Juvenile Detention Center and the Orin Allen Boy's Ranch in Byron. Rev. Van Hook previously served as Supervising Chaplain at the Alameda County Probation Department.
He started with the new year and will be attending Elected Council meetings and the MLK Day Service, where you can get to know him personally. He will be available to speak at area congregations and groups about his ministry in a few months, after he has settled into his important work. Let us welcome Rev. Julius Van Hook as our new county Interfaith Juvenile Chaplain serving the young people most in need of his ministry!
"Envisioning a World of Interfaith Peace."
Shalom, Peace, Salaam, Om Shanti, Solh, Amani, Paz, 평화, Ping On...
Rev. Will McGarvey
